Andrew Barrett

Andrew graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music majoring in the horn. He has worked professionally in orchestras in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and St Gallen (Switzerland) as a horn player and pianist. Andrew is the Head of Music at Brighton Secondary School, a position he has held since 2016. He has worked full time at this school since 2008 and has directed the Boys' Chamber Choir, Concert Band, Concert Choir, Tour Choir (2017, 2019), Brass Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Dixieland Band, and Orchestra, as well as amassing a large body of compositions and arrangements for these ensembles. His skills as a classical and jazz pianist are regularly utilised at Brighton Secondary School and in the community.
