Description:
Fanfare for Eight Horns was commissioned by the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, for their 2020 season launch. I am very fortunate to have carried out numerous fantastic projects with QCGU. Their support for new music—as well as the professionalism and brilliance of their students and staff—earned this institution a very special place in my heart. I have collaborated closely with their horn studio since 2012, which has been a great source of inspiration. In this short celebratory piece, I wanted to encapsulate the feelings of pride, excitement, musical nobility, and gratitude that I associate with QCGU, as well as the excitement of new beginnings. The piece does not require a conductor.
